Oak frame for sale with some original masonry, all professionally dismantled and stored and offering an ideal opportunity for reconstruction to create a characterful four bedroom house

A complete 200 year old oak framed house ready for re-construction.

The oak frame (30m L x 5m W x 10m H) is in a good condition and contains some much earlier timbers (two ‘A’ Frames possibly 17th century) together with some elaborately carved masonry footstones (believed to be 15th century and from a former chateau).

The frame has now been professionally dismantled and is currently dry stored in Normandy (North West France) ready for shipping to UK. Every timber has been tagged with a unique number corresponding to a full architectural plan. This plan, together with a file of over one hundred of photographs (taken during the dismantling process), will be available to the purchaser to aid reconstruction.

Additionally, around 60% of the original construction materials (daub, dressed stone and knapped flint) are also included.

Originally constructed in 1816 as two farm labourer’s cottages this frame would easily convert to a single four bedroomed house, two small cottages or a workshop / garage with living accommodation above. A rare opportunity to acquire an original oak frame house in good usable condition.
