It is approximately 22 miles west of Aberdeen and four miles east of the village of Alford, with easy access to the A944.

Alford is a thriving community with a range of clubs and many amenities, including a hotel, restaurants, convenience stores, a butcher and delicatessen and a monthly farmers’ market. Local schools are excellent, and new facilities, including new schools, a community library, swimming pool and gym are planned for 2016.
