Here are a couple of sample descriptions that might help you when writing your own description.

Example one
Unconverted barn with lots of potential on outskirts of conservation village of Strathaven in Lanarkshire, 10 miles from the M74 with excellent links to Glasgow and Edinburgh (easy commute to either). This barn was originally built in 1845 of stone and slate construction and is in good condition (including new roof in 2002). It has a surface area of approx 230 square metres on two floors on a plot of approx. 5000 square metres. Set at the end of a private road, this barn has water and electricity, but would require septic tank. Would make fantastic family home and scope for business too (bed and breakfast maybe?). Has outline planning permission. More photos available!

Example two
Converted millhouse situated near village of Caldbeck, 12 miles from the M6 and only 18 miles from the border city of Carlisle. Set on the edge of the river, this millhouse was originally built in 1862 on the footprint of an older building (circa 1770) and was sympathetically converted into a comfortable family home in 1989. It is of sandstone and slate roof construction and has a living surface area of approx 200 square metres on a plot of approx. 600 square metres. Upstairs: Master bedroom with en-suite bathroom (4 piece) and fitted wardrobes, bedroom 2 is a large double room which shares an en suite shower room with bedroom 3 - a single bedroom. On a private road, there is plenty of parking space to the rear of the barn. The garden is mainly laid to lawn with a few raised beds. Greenhouse and shed included in the sale. The central heating is solid fuel, property connected to mains drainage. Built to very high specification - must see to fully appreciate!
