House, barn and stable for sale in the village of Maison Ponthieu, in the Somme department of North East France.
The house was built around 1775 and has the traditional double inglenook fireplaces with a Picardie bread oven in the lounge.
The barn and stable / shed wood frames are thought to date from the same period.
Maison Ponthieu is a small rural village with 185 houses (240 inhabitants). It has a butcher’s shop which also sells bread and other groceries, a village school, a farm machinery dealer and a Mairie. The nearest petrol stations and supermarkets are in Auxi-le Chateau and Crecy. Surrounding farming is a mix of dairy and cereals.
The house was renovated initially in the 1980’s and again when the current owners bought it in 2003.
