Unconverted barn six miles south of Shrewsbury, Shropshire. This barn is priced to sell and has potential to provide a good return or a nice home for someone with excellent negotiating skills or the tenacity to see it through, but there are challenges to overcome.

This barn does not have planning permission, although the local council have indicated they would support an application for mixed residential / commercial use, however, the barn is set back a little from the road and effectively landlocked with no right of access. It also does not come with any land except that which it stands on.

In order to develop the barn access needs to be granted and a small piece of amenity land gained which could possibly be achieved by reducing the footprint. I bought the barn a year ago to develop when it looked like I would be returning to the UK to settle. An excellent opportunity to stay overseas, and a consequent lack of will, have slowly changed my mind and I now want to sell it.

Both neighbours are totally against giving any access and I am part way through trying to legally force an easement for access using a lawyer. My knowledge of the law and my negotiating skills are not very good.
